Sizing belts has historically been a pain point for me.

The truth is: it became a chore. So for the past couple of years, you haven't seen belts offered on the website. And I've really only done it for a select group of customers who asked nicely.

Why? Well, the answer is because sizing for belts is more art than science. I can tell you how I'd like you to measure for me, but unless you're right here in the shop, it's very difficult to get right on the first try. So more often than not when someone self selects a belt size from a drop-down menu, I'd get a call back saying that the sizing was off. So I found myself re-doing a LOT of belts at a loss.

Recently, I was in the O'Farrell Hat Company shop in Santa Fe, and it hit me. While there are umpteen cowboy hat shops in Santa Fe that you can find one straight off-the-rack and walk out with one a few minutes later, there is absolutely nothing like a truly custom fit hat. Getting there is a process; it's an art. And if you want one of Scott O'Farrell's art pieces perfectly fitting your dome, you're going to have to stand in line. I believe said line is currently about 16 months long!

But this was an "ah-ha!" moment for me. The way for me to sustainably make Last Exit Belts again for people is to do it like Scott does: one-at-a-time, by appointment. You will work directly with me and have access to an almost unlimited array of options like leather color, buckle style, hardware color, custom embossing or laser-etched messages, and so-on. And no, my line is not nearly as long!
